Having a big bottom is not a bad thing after all! We all know being over weight is not the healthiest thing. But a rounded derrière could actually be beneficial for good health.

Researchers at Oxford University and Churchill Hospital in the UK have been researching body shape and size. They have discovered that people who carry their body fat in their thighs and backside have potentially more protection against diabetes and heart disease.
The results show ladies with larger bottoms have lower cholesterol and are better at producing hormones to metabolise sugar in the blood stream. Having a larger fat stores in the thighs and bottom requires an excess of Omega 3 which is associated with brain development.
Having a big bottom is also good for leptin levels and dinopectina in the female body; these are hormones responsible for regulating weight. anti-inflammatory, vascular-protective, and anti-diabetic attributes.
“If you’re going to have fat, you’re definitely better off if you’ve got some fat in the lower body,” said Dr. Michael Jensen, director of endocrine research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn
However, the results are not conclusive on whether having a pear shaped body is better than being thinner overall. “If you’re a healthy thin weight, you’re going to be every bit as healthy as someone who has weight, but has all the weight in the lower body,” Jensen said.
